Chicago-raised siblings Elliot & Natalie Bergman align their musical talents to create their up-and-coming duo, Wild Belle. Elliot & Natalie were raised in what they describe as a musical household, where he cultivated an ensemble of instruments in his proficiency quiver (including, but not limited to: saxophone, electric mbira, and electric sawblade gamelan). Natalie pursued her own singing talents, and after a brief stint in NYC, she returned to her native Chicago, where she began a musical collaboration with her brother, who was then performing with his world-jazz/Afrobeat band Nomo (worth checking out, by the way). Wild Belle was soon born and the duo quickly gained momentum through their original writing, recording, and producing of Wild Belle’s unique, progressive-but-poppy-enough reggae sound. After signing to Columbia Records they’re preparing for the release of their debut LP, Isles, in March of 2013.
Wild Belle has enjoyed growing success, rocking the stage at last year’s SXSW and appearing on the Conan Show this past November.
The group is currently on tour through February of this year. So far they’ve shared the stage with Passion Pit, Deep Sea Diver and Of Montreal. Check out a great interview with the brother-sister duo on the LA Music Blog.
